During the past 9 months, Hungarian courts held 2115 remote hearings, and 783 judges used the Via Video system in their proceedings.

In May 2019, the number of remote hearings was nearly 600, which is a sixfold increase compared to the data of November 2018.

Considering the number of courtrooms equipped with the necessary technology for remote hearings, the Szombathely Regional Court performed the highest usage rate of the Via Video system in the past month: more than 26 per courtroom, a total of 107 remote hearings completed.

The usage rate of the Via Video system is quite high at the Nyíregyháza, Győr, Kaposvár and Miskolc Regional Courts, where the equipped courtrooms were used on average 12 times in May.

By the remote hearing system, courts are interconnected mainly (80%) with penal institutions, and in smaller part, with other courts.

The number of international remote hearings was nearly half-hundred in the past 9 months. This rate keeps increasing: cross-border remote hearings were performed 17 times in May 2019, which is an eightfold increase compared to the data of December 2018.
