Dr. Árpád Répássy and dr. Sándor Vajas, vice-presidents of the National Office for the Judiciary (NOJ), welcomed dr. Judit Zsófia Oltai, President of the Hungarian Association of Judges (MABIE), to sign a grant agreement between the two organizations.

"Although the signed agreement is about financial support, its significance lies in the message that the unity of the judiciary is the most essential condition for success," said dr. Árpád Répássy, greeting the President of MABIE. The vice president of the NOJ said that the central organization of court administration intends to support the unity of the judiciary in every possible way, and considers collaboration the most important in order to serve the interests of the 11,000 people working in the courts: judges and judicial staff.

In her speech, dr. Judit Zsófia Oltai emphasized that the support is a good example of collaboration between judicial administration and self-representation, which will guide both bodies in the future. The grant agreement had already been drafted in April, but its adoption had to be decided by a decision of the MABIE Bureau, so the ceremonial signing could only take place later, notably today – the president stressed. Regarding the financial support, she noted that the Association intends to use it at its National Board Meeting on 22-23 November 2019, where the Minister of Justice, the President of the Curia and the President of the National Judicial Council were also invited.

The participants of the meeting expressed their united determination to engage in a constructive dialogue between the central administration and self-representation bodies.
