Conference on Courts and Communication VII was a success

Numerous positive feedback were received on the International Conference on Courts and Communication on 10-11 October. The event organized annually by the National Office for the Judiciary, for the seventh time this year attracted around 80 guests from 19 countries.

The central topic of the conference was building trust via communication: renowned Hungarian and foreign speakers focused on the different aspects of creating and strengthening public trust in the judiciary. The keynote speech by the prominent trainer, Ms Erika Besnyi has been highly praised by the audience.

Frontal presentations were continued about the communication of high-profile cases, the cultural mission of courts and internal communication by acknowledged speakers like José María Ortega Martínez de Victoria, Head of Communication Office at the High Court of Justice of Castille and León, Iveta Jaudzema, International Communications Officer at the Supreme Court of Latvia, and John Coughlan, Deputy Director of Communications at the Academy of European Law. 

On the second day of the conference, the guests discussed the topics of the first day in workshops. The group conversation on high-profile cases was led by dr. Balázs Rozsnyai, criminal judge at the Hajdúböszörmény Distric Court, the courts’ mission to promote values goup by William Valasidis, Director of Communications at the Court of Justice of the EU, and the internal communication workshop by dr. PhD Edina Kriskó, lecturer at the National University of Public Service.
